Karen comes from a humble, Midwest family in Milwaukee, WI. The eldest of three siblings, Karen is the first and only in her family to attend college. Prior to graduating from FAU with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and advertising, Karen was an avid musician. For ten years, during elementary and high school, she played saxophone in the schools’ band and jazz ensemble. She also played piano at an early age and later formed her own musical band with fellow students. If that weren’t enough, Karen was also active in the color guard, girls’ basketball, volleyball team, and was drum majorette for the marching band.

Karen has always been inspired by the work ethic and tenacity her father displayed throughout his lifetime. She credits him for her entrepreneurial spirt. At a very young age he learned to play the accordion. When he moved to Milwaukee he had a full-time factory job and continued to book playing jobs for his polka band. Karen was inspired by his tenacious ability and his love for polka music. She saw his success and subconsciously retained his entrepreneurial skills. Using those skills and her degrees from FAU she owned and ran an advertising agency for nearly 20 years.

While owning her company she acquired clients in large healthcare systems, physicians’ practices, home health care facilities, computer IT service companies, restaurant franchises, golf club communities, and the business broker industry. Karen has always had a fascination with real estate. On Saturday and Sunday mornings as a child, she watched TV shows that featured homes for sale. She respected the agents who really knew their product and offered excellent advice to their clients. Buying a home is one of the biggest decision someone makes.
