Signature Gives Back Celebrates Launch of Grant Program

As reported in http://www.prweb.com/releases/2018/01/prweb15097652.htm

Signature Gives Back (SGB), the philanthropic arm of The Signature Real Estate Companies (SREC), put the finishing touches on an extremely charitable and productive 2017 by awarding its first official grants to two Puerto Rican families severely affected by the devastation of Hurricane Maria.

Jack Jaiven, SREC Executive Vice President and SGB Vice President, states: “For a young philanthropic organization like SGB, raising more than $10,000 at our First Annual Fundraiser in October was remarkable; however, the more significant accomplishment is utilizing those funds to support two Puerto Rican families who truly need substantial financial assistance.”

SGB has helped to restore normalcy to two families’ critical housing needs: the first by subsidizing the permanent relocation of the family members from Puerto Rico to Boca Raton, including one with special needs requiring a service dog. SGB also has provided financial assistance for a generator and critical repairs for a second family’s house in Puerto Rico.

Phyllis Minns, SREC REALTOR® and Event Chair for SREC’s inaugural fundraiser at the Silverball Museum in downtown Delray Beach, was highly instrumental in locating a rental apartment in Boca Raton where the family will reside during 2018 with financial assistance from SGB. “All of Signature should be complimented for participating in events to help raise the money needed for this to happen… I'm happy that I was able to play a small part in it.”

SREC REALTOR® and SGB Assistant Vice President, Wendy Pressner, worked tirelessly with Jaiven to assist the family by advocating directly to the local community and eliciting the help from SGB committee members to back the effort. “It’s REALTORS® like Phyllis, who are so giving of their time to help others that truly make this world a better place. I’m proud to co-chair Signature Gives Back and be able to say SGB is the true definition of what it means to be the change you want to see in this world.”

“Absolutely fantastic job!” remarks SREC President-Broker and SGB President, Ben G. Schachter. He credits the company’s ‘agent-centric’ approach to the rise in volunteerism this year. “We invest in empowering our employees, and that resonates within our communities.”

Signature Gives Back, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, has encouraged hundreds of REALTORS® to volunteer their time and make financial contributions to these charitable organizations among others: Boca Helping Hands, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Habitat for Humanity, SOS Children’s Villages, Tri-County Animal Rescue, The Soup Kitchen, and Wayne Barton Study Center.

The Signature Real Estate Companies (SignatureRealEstateCompanies.com) operates more than 25 real estate brokerages and has more than 700 Team Members across Florida, adding 200 alone in 2017.
